Marisola is more than just an organization—it is a movement and a call to see young girls and women embark on a journey of healing rather than going through life shoving their pain into the shadows and letting it affect their lives. It is a safe, nurturing community where women and girls can heal from trauma, reclaim their strength, and step into their light.
The Meaning Behind Marisola
‘Mari’ symbolizes the calming, cleansing nature of the sea, while ‘Sola’ represents the empowering light and warmth of the sun. Together, they reflect Marisola’s mission to guide survivors from trauma to renewal—from healing to light.
To create a world where women and girls are healed, empowered, and thriving. Where past trauma does not define their future, and where they can step fully into their light with confidence, peace, and strength.
Marisola is a community-driven initiative that supports women and girls who have survived FGM, sexual abuse, and violence. Through trauma-informed healing programs, mentorship, and empowerment initiatives, we provide survivors with the tools to heal, rebuild confidence, and step into their full potential.
How Marisola Began
Marisola was born from a deep ache in my heart after hearing stories, witnessing disclosures, and seeing abuse and trauma unfold in the lives of women and girls around me — many too close to home.
I began to understand how much pain was hiding beneath the surface, and how many women were silently carrying shame, self-sabotage, and fear.
In learning, listening, and healing, I knew I had to do something.
Not just awareness — but a space for deep support and transformation.
So I created Marisola — where the sea meets the sun — a place of healing, light, and wholeness.
A movement for girls and women to begin again, rise again, and thrive.
Because no one deserves to stay in the dark when light is possible.
